  • Presentation for all business or school employees to learn: the history of Active Shooter cases, how active shooters think, how to tactically evaluate the scenario, and how to prepare for Run, Hide, Fight options.
  • Question and Answer Session with all employees
  • Demonstration
  • Survey with Feedback provided to the business or school administration

Additionally, the Level 1 Training includes a site and room walkthrough with all employees, if desired:

  • Small groups will be created to walk through the business or school noting egress points, means of concealment and cover, areas vulnerability
  • Discussion about room fortification.
  • How to improvise and use everyday objects as a weapon for protection

"Before taking this training I would have been terrified if something  were to happen at school. Now I feel as if I have control and decisions I can make that will better prepare me to protect my students. I also feel that the skills I learned would apply even if I wasn't at school and I was attacked. I know how to defend myself."

the  B.E.A.S.T. concept

B.E.A.S.T. personnel, who have been trained in martial arts and/or law enforcement defensive tactics, will respond to your business or school and provide self-defense techniques that have been specifically designed for combating an Active Shooter. The training is limited to approximately 40 personnel at a time and takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete. The training consists of the following:

  • Basic strikes: Hands/Fists, Elbows, Knees, Kicks
  • Improvised weapon usage
  • Aggression drills
  • Weapon takeaways (handgun, long gun/rifle)
  • Practical application of the strikes and weapon takeaways
  • Survey with Feedback provided to the business or school administration

The concept of B.E.A.S.T. was created in response to a general lack of societal preparedness in dealing with active shooter scenarios.  In discussions with his wife, a teacher, founder Sgt. Patrick O realized that the school district's one-size-fits-all-situations response to an Active Shooter scenario actually placed his wife in greater danger than she would otherwise be in if she were properly trained in tactical site evaluation, room fortification, disaster planning, mental preparation, suspect tactics, and defensive tactics.  Thus, he developed a program that trains teachers and business professionals all of these specialties in a condensed, understandable, and easily retainable format.

B.E.A.S.T. personnel have trained thousands of people in both the private and public sector in these tactics.  If employee safety is your ultimate goal, then B.E.A.S.T. training is your answer.  We offer three different types of trainings: Active Shooter Level 1, Activer Shooter Level 2 and Policy Consulation.
